Musical Blocking :)

How does this look? I still have to do some more offsetting. This is the first time I tried to block out in stepped and I really don't know if I did it right or whether I should have decided to animate in stepped for this particular assignment! It is not in stepped in this playblast though.

I wanted to do a Broadway style dance. So I took a reference from the following:

Oh! And the dropbox link, just in case... :)

  1. the beauty of stepped is that you get a sense of hitting the main beats. i like the overall idea, but at this point, put it back into stepped, even from playblasting.

the reason is that it's easier to evaluate how you're hitting the main beats.

great that you have some nice clear reference. the challenge will be interpreting it.

what i'd say is first off, put it back into stepped and add more breakdown frames. overall the timing is a little even in places and a little jerky in others. fixing that right off the bat will make going to the next pass much easier.

  2. It's a great start! It would be more helpful to post the blocking with music.

@sonia: hmmmm.. i didn't realize there was no audio! So I checked and found that i had forgotten to export the audio. I have now done that but i can still hear no music here. :-/ I guess the next time i'll post a quick time and a youtube for the video with music!

  4. Wow, that's ambitious! Now I feel like I'm not doing enough in mine. Goodluck.
