Pointers Please.. First Try of walk cycle.

This is just normal walkcycle without specific characteristic.
I have a question about the tilt of pelvis.
When the legs are in the passing position the angle of pelvis is parallel?
Here are my humble drawings..

Thanks for seeing this. -Jin, M

remember...for the passing pose, you push your weght over the foot that's planted, and rotate your pelvis up to allow for the leg to more easily pass

  1. Hey Jin! If you lookup page 123 of Survival Kit, Richard shows an example where he tilts the pelvis on extremes (and keeps the passing position parallel) - but as far as I understand, it just depends on WHO is walking.

To find an answer to your question, I tried to tilt my pelvis on the passing position, and if I exaggerate the tilt, it almost feels like an overly feminine/ figure8/ catwalk type of walk. Maybe I'm wrong!? I'll wait for Jeff's thoughts :)

  2. good notes Sonia...

it's often a matter of degrees...too much rhythmic sway will feel feminine, but the right amount of tilt gives more a feeling of the body in motion.
